Canva Foundations – Syllabus
Workshop Length: 1.5 Hours
Who's this for? - Businesses and Nonprofits (Beginner – Intermediate Level)
Workshop Goal: Guide participants to use Canva to create effective presentations and social media content with confidence, consistency, and creativity.
Overview on Lesson:
- Navigating Canva’s dashboard & tools
- Using templates for presentations & social posts
- Customizing designs with your branding
- Leveraging the Brand Kit (and a workaround for free users)
- Practical design tips for polished results
- Creating content for multiple platforms
- Saving, sharing, and presenting your designs
- Q & A session at the end with 1-on-1 help
This workshop will be led by Jaemilyn, our Communications Manager, who holds an Honours Degree in Media Communications and brings a strong background in design and storytelling. She’s highly skilled in Canva, among other tools, and passionate about helping small businesses and nonprofits build a professional visual presence!
An advanced session is available if you want to dive deeper or already know the basics!
What to Bring:
- Your laptop (fully charged + charger just in case)
- A Canva account – Please have your free or Pro account set up before the session
- Any brand assets you’d like to practice with (logo, colors, photos, etc.) (optional but recommended)
