The Career Education Council is a registered charitable organization dedicated to providing youth with meaningful opportunities for experiential learning, career exploration, and skill development. We collaborate extensively with local employers, educators, and community partners to provide learning opportunities that will help youth to make more informed choices about their future education, training, and career pathway.

Overview Position(s): Employer Liaison & Engagement Specialist
Term: 10 Months (starting September 2022)
Hours: 15-32, Monday-Friday
Region(s): Central- and North-Wellington
Type: Part-time
Language(s): English

Duties & Responsibilities:
Extensive relationship-building with local employers and community partners. Communicating annual activation fees, tracking replies, billing, providing agreements Manage logistics before, during, and after events (recruitment, registrations, logistics, meal planning, billing, floor plan, etc). Pull and refine reports from the resource hub. Connect with all interested career speaker volunteers to review terms and expectations Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver core events Represent organization at community events Outreach to specific sectors, employers and/or volunteers to secure interest and participation in events, programming, and resource development Build and maintain existing relationships with community education partners (schools, colleges, universities) Program and resource development Benchmarking, goal setting and providing status updates to the CEC team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in event coordination Able to multi-task Able to work independently Public speaking experience Ability to speak French would be an asset.

Qualifications and Essential Skills: Goal-oriented and results-focused (benchmarks, targets, goals) Tech-savvy (effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, MailChimp, Eventbrite, and Canva) High tolerance for ambiguity Experience with outreach or sales using different methods of communication – LinkedIn, Phone, Email, Zoom
