About Us

OUR VISION: People coming together to shape a thriving community.

Since our inception in late 2004, HCIA has provided residents of Dufferin County and Caledon information about emerging local issues and opportunities while supporting grassroots groups and collaborative projects that support community well-being for the long term.

HCIA offers a Shared Platform that includes governance, legal and administrative backbone services, relieving the administrative burden and opening up fundraising options so that supported projects can focus on their purpose and impact. We also partner with local government and service agencies to collaborate on system change for collective impact, and to bring community voices and local priorities to the table.

Our work ties to our local research on Community Safety and Well-being, and is rooted in principles of social determinants of health, connected communities, well-being economies and asset-based community development.

Our current supported projects and partnerships include (links under Highlights):

- Volunteer Dufferin - online matching portal and volunteer support centre

- HFFA - Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance
- Farm to School
- Headwaters Farm Fresh Guide
- Headwaters Food Charter

- DC MOVES - network of human services providers
- DCEC - Dufferin County Equity Collaborative
