Elizabeth has been weaving since 1988 mixing fibres and colours in her hand-dyed and handwoven scarves, bags and household textiles. She recently started Weaverbee Textiles after many years as a hobbyist.
She loves mixing natural dyes with commercial dyes to create wearable/useable art on cotton, silk, and Tencel. All of her items are created in her home studio in Orangeville. Elizabeth loves the interplay of colour and watching it unfold on the loom. Her newest endeavor is creating 3 dimensional functional objects with woven cloth.
Currently in the Slow Cloth Exhibit at the Art Gallery of Burlington and in the upcoming HGA exhibit Vistas Along the Appalachian Trail. She has previously exhibited with the Credit Valley Artisans, the Guelph Guild of Handweavers and Spinners, and the Tapestry Line Collective at the One of a Kind Show. Elizabeth is a member of the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners, Headwaters Arts and Complex Weavers.
