Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County Announces “September to Remember”
An Evening of Impact, Community and Hope
ORANGEVILLE, ON — August 4, 2026 — The Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County invites the community to attend September to Remember on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Monora Park.
This heartfelt fundraising event will bring the community together to celebrate hope, honour those whose lives have been touched by dementia and raise vital funds for local programs and services.
The need for these services continues to grow at an alarming rate as dementia diagnoses rise throughout the community. The Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County has received twice as many referrals compared to this time last year, highlighting the urgent need for accessible support, education and meaningful programming for individuals living with dementia and their care partners.
Guests will enjoy a beautifully prepared dinner by Gourmandissimo, beginning with grazing boards featuring artisan meats and cheeses, tomato bocconcini skewers, herb and tomato focaccia bites, corn fritters with coriander lime mayo and more.
The buffet dinner will include grilled spiced steak with chimichurri and horseradish, baked salmon with fresh herbs, sundried tomato tapenade and lemon dill aioli, vegan penne with ratatouille-style vegetables, baked potatoes, maple baked beans, corn and black bean salad, garden salad, bread and butter, assorted mini desserts and tarts, and a coffee and tea station. Wine will be served during dinner.
Throughout the evening, guests will hear powerful stories of resilience and hope while learning more about the impact of dementia in the community. They will also discover how their support helps fund meaningful programs for people living with dementia, along with respite, education and guidance for their caregivers and care partners.
The evening will feature an exciting silent auction with prizes generously donated by local businesses, as well as games, raffles and additional opportunities to win. Guests are encouraged to bring cash to participate.
Every dollar raised will remain in Dufferin County, helping the Alzheimer Society meet the rapidly increasing demand for compassionate support, meaningful programming and hope for local individuals and families navigating dementia.
Together, we can create a future where no one faces dementia alone. Join us for an unforgettable evening of community, compassion, awareness and hope as we make a lasting difference one memory at a time.
